Nuremberg's Care Café Offers Guidance After a Dementia Diagnosis

The 70th Nuremberg-Fürth Care Café will host an event on dementia support and resources. It aims to help those affected and their families understand available options. The session is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 6:30 PM in Nuremberg’s Gostenhof Community Center. The event centres on the theme 'Diagnosed with Dementia—What Now? Options and Resources for Those Affected and Their Families'. Experts will discuss counselling, support, and relief services for people with dementia and their carers.

Ms. Häring from Nuremberg’s Relatives’ and Dementia Counseling Association will attend. Ms. Hartinger from the Dementia and Care Specialist Center will also join. The session will include an open forum for questions, shared experiences, and discussion.

The Care Café regularly tackles issues around elder care, ageing, and self-determination. Its mission is to raise awareness and secure support for those in need of care and their loved ones. Hundreds of thousands in Germany receive a dementia diagnosis each year, with most living at home for years, often cared for by relatives. The event offers a chance to learn about practical help for dementia patients and their families. It takes place at the Gostenhof Community Center. The organisers hope to provide clarity and assistance to those navigating a dementia diagnosis.
