Off-duty police save choking toddler in Alicante street rescue

Two off-duty National Police officers have saved the life of a three-year-old boy in Alicante. The child was unresponsive and struggling to breathe when the officers stepped in to help. Their quick actions prevented a tragedy on a busy street in the city.

The incident began when the officers spotted a distressed mother holding her limp child. The boy's lips were blue, and his swollen tongue blocked his airway, making breathing nearly impossible.

Without hesitation, the officers rushed to assist. They performed emergency airway-clearing maneuvers on the spot. Within minutes, the child began breathing again and regained consciousness.

An ambulance soon arrived to take the boy and his mother to Hospital General de Alicante. Medical staff there kept them under observation to ensure no further complications.

The child's condition stabilized after the officers' intervention. He and his mother remained at the hospital for monitoring. The quick response of the two policemen proved critical in saving the boy's life.
