PeakBridge's FoodSparks Fund Invests in Four Cutting-Edge Food Startups Across Europe
PeakBridge’s FoodSparks fund has backed four new seed-stage startups across Europe. The investments target innovative food and health companies with strong growth potential. Each selected business aligns with the fund’s focus on early-stage food technology and sustainability.
The FoodSparks fund, launched in 2021 with EIT Food, manages €30 million ($33 million). It supports pan-European startups in five key areas, including alternative proteins, functional ingredients, and food commerce. Companies must meet strict criteria around location, technology, and mission fit to qualify for funding.
Among the new investments is **Evinature**, a gut health specialist. Its flagship product, CurQD, is used in over 40 US medical centres and backed by clinical trials. Another backed company, **SOUS**, operates a commerce platform for chefs and culinary entrepreneurs, helping them expand revenue streams. The fund also selected **GanEden**, a plant-based ice cream maker. Its high-fibre pre-mix works in ice cream, yogurt, and cream products. Meanwhile, **KÄÄPÄ Biotech** uses ultrasound-assisted technology to produce functional mushroom extracts for food and supplements.
These four additions bring fresh innovation to PeakBridge’s portfolio. The startups will use the funding to scale operations and develop their technologies further. FoodSparks continues to focus on early-stage companies shaping the future of food and health.
