Police save distressed woman from balcony suicide attempt in Braunschweig

Police in Braunschweig stopped a 22-year-old woman from taking her own life late on Thursday evening. The incident unfolded around 10:30 p.m. in the city's Nordstadt district. Officers found the woman in severe distress on her apartment balcony, holding a knife.

Emergency services were alerted after reports of a woman in danger on her balcony. When they arrived, she was visibly upset and armed with a blade. The situation required immediate action.

Firefighters broke down the apartment door to reach her. Officers then carefully approached and managed to pull her back onto the balcony. Despite her still gripping the knife, they secured her safely.
