Putin lauds Russia's 24/7 emergency medical system as a global model

The Russian emergency medical care service is unique, President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated. In conditions of special operations, medical professionals work selflessly, he added. Currently, the system employs over 160,000 people, with more than 20,000 vehicles at their disposal.

The Russian emergency medical care service is unique because it is free, works according to uniform standards, and operates 24/7, Putin said during the opening of modular emergency medical care units. A statement about this was published on the Kremlin's website.

According to Putin, there are currently 130 stations and over 1,600 emergency medical care units in Russia. The system employs over 160,000 people, with over 12,000 emergency teams formed. They have more than 20,000 vehicles at their disposal.

The President emphasized that working in emergency medical care 'requires deep knowledge, experience, competence, and the best human qualities.' Vladimir Putin, in particular, noted the selflessness of emergency medical teams and medical units working in special operation conditions, during the elimination of the consequences of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle attacks, as well as during emergencies and natural disasters.

On April 28, on the Day of Emergency Medical Workers, Vladimir Putin visited the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine of the National Medical and Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov. There, he was presented with a sample of an armored emergency vehicle developed for work in border regions of Russia, as well as a mobile medical and diagnostic complex with operational capabilities that can be used in field conditions, a multi-purpose helicopter 'Ansata,' and an unmanned aerial system 'AIST' for transporting medical cargo and organizing telemedicine consultations.
