Restaurants now reveal protein counts to attract health-focused diners

More restaurants are now listing protein content on their menus to meet growing demand from health-conscious diners. Two chains, Luna Grill and PLNT Burger, have started detailing the exact grams of protein in each dish. This shift comes as dietary guidelines increasingly emphasise protein intake for balanced nutrition.

Luna Grill has introduced a new Medi Macro Bowl, packed with 29 grams of protein and 11 grams of fibre. The chain also offers lentils as a side, providing 8 grams of protein per serving. Customers using the Luna Grill app can even double up on protein and receive a personalised nutrient breakdown.

PLNT Burger has followed a similar approach. Their Zesty Greek Protein + Veg Bites contain 23 grams of protein per order, while a double cheeseburger and fries meal delivers 38 grams. Both restaurants now clearly display protein amounts on menus, apps, and websites.

Other brands, such as More Taste, Just Taste, Fat Monk, and Juit, also focus on high-protein meals. However, unlike Luna Grill and PLNT Burger, they do not currently list protein grams on their menus or digital platforms. The trend reflects updated dietary recommendations, which advise adults to consume between 1.2 and 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight daily.

The move to display protein content gives diners clearer choices when selecting meals. With more chains adopting this practice, customers can now track their intake more easily. This change aligns with broader health trends and official dietary advice.
