Russia triples fresh produce testing in Primorsky Krai and Magadan Oblast
Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors have stepped up testing of fresh produce across Primorsky Krai and Magadan Oblast. This year’s sampling has already more than tripled compared to 2025, with 19 vegetable samples collected so far. The checks aim to verify compliance with pesticide and agrochemical safety rules. In Magadan, nine samples of tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers were taken. All passed inspection with no violations found. The results are logged in the Federal State Information System (FGIS).
In Primorsky Krai, inspectors gathered 10 samples of tomatoes and cucumbers from Ussuriysk Urban District. Further sampling is planned, including strawberries, eggplants, and more tomatoes. The expanded programme reflects a broader push for food safety. A total of 349 samples of vegetables, berries, and leafy greens are scheduled for testing in 2026 across several regions.
The increased sampling highlights stricter monitoring of agricultural produce. More results will be recorded in FGIS as inspections continue. The focus remains on ensuring compliance with safety standards before produce reaches consumers.
