A 35-year-old resident of Arsenyev has been convicted for illegally selling nicotine products in Dalgorensk. The Dalgorensk District Court ruled on the case, which involved unmarked nicotine delivery systems and flavoured mixtures. The total value of the seized goods surpassed 2 million rubles.
The defendant stored and sold unmarked nicotine products without proper authorisation. Authorities discovered a large quantity of flavoured mixtures and delivery devices during the investigation. Under Russian law, the sale of such items without compliance with labelling and regulatory standards is a criminal offence.
The court found the individual guilty under Part 6(b) of Article 171.1 of the Russian Criminal Code. As a result, the defendant received a fine of 400,000 rubles. The confiscated products will be destroyed once the verdict becomes final. This case comes as concerns grow over rising nicotine use among young people in Primorsky Territory. Reports indicate that children as young as eight and ten are experimenting with nicotine for the first time. The ruling remains subject to appeal, meaning the final outcome could still change.
The conviction highlights ongoing efforts to regulate nicotine sales in the region. With the products set for destruction, authorities aim to curb illegal distribution. The case also draws attention to the broader issue of underage nicotine exposure in Primorsky Territory.
