Russian Mother Welcomes Her 12th Child in Record-Breaking Family
A woman from Kamyshlov has welcomed her twelfth child, a baby boy named Kostey. The newborn arrived at a regional perinatal centre, marking another addition to the family's eight boys and four girls. Lilia, the mother, has given birth to 11 children over the past 20 years. Her eldest daughter is now 24. This time, the delivery went smoothly, with both mother and baby in good health.
Kostey was born weighing 2,400 grams and measuring 49 centimetres, making him the smallest of Lilia's children. His name was chosen by her eldest son. The birth took place in a perinatal centre, part of the region's expanding network aimed at improving care for pregnant women. The Ministry of Health has been strengthening medical support for such cases. Their focus includes developing specialised facilities to ensure safe deliveries for mothers with large families.
The family now includes twelve children, with Kostey as the youngest. The regional health system continues to adapt, providing better resources for complex pregnancies and births. Both mother and baby remain in stable condition after the successful delivery.
