Sharjah resumes in-person classes for all schools and nurseries from May 2026

The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has confirmed that in-person classes will restart across all educational institutions in the emirate. The change takes effect from Monday, May 11, 2026, covering private schools, nurseries, and administrative staff alike. The move aims to ensure the continuity of education while keeping safety measures in place. Schools and nurseries will still maintain strict security protocols to protect students and employees.

Flexibility remains a priority for the authority. Institutions must stay ready to switch to alternative learning models if circumstances demand it. SPEA has emphasised its commitment to adapting quickly while providing a stable learning environment for all.

The decision applies to every educational facility in Sharjah, from early-years settings to private schools. With safety procedures still enforced, the authority seeks to balance in-person teaching with the ability to respond to future challenges.
