Sochi's beaches pass rigorous safety checks ahead of summer season
Sochi’s beaches are ready for the summer swimming season after thorough inspections. Authorities carried out extensive water quality tests and seabed checks to ensure safety for visitors. Rospotrebnadzor experts analysed over 1,000 seawater samples for microbiological, chemical, and virological risks. They also tested for petroleum contamination ahead of the season’s start. Every sample met the required hygienic standards.
Divers examined the seabed in swimming zones up to 50 metres from the shore. Their inspections covered depths of up to 15 metres, ensuring no underwater hazards remained.
Nearly 180 beaches across Sochi were prepared for public use. The combined efforts of testing and inspections confirmed safe conditions for swimmers. The checks confirmed that all monitored areas comply with health and safety rules. With the results approved, Sochi’s beaches are now officially open for the swimming season.
