Survivor Oksana B. exposes brutal domestic violence and her fight for justice

Oksana B. has spoken out about the violent abuse she endured at the hands of her former partner, Nikolai A. Her story, shared on national television, highlights the severe consequences of domestic violence and her ongoing struggle to recover. Oksana met Nikolai after a painful divorce. At first, he seemed kind and supportive, but his behaviour changed once they moved in together. He began isolating her from loved ones and subjected her to constant verbal abuse.

When she tried to leave, Nikolai stalked and threatened her. The situation escalated into a brutal attack where he struck her in the face with a wrench. The assault left her blind in one eye, with a broken arm and rib.

Nikolai was later arrested and placed in pretrial detention. Oksana has since undergone multiple surgeries to rebuild the bone structure around her eye socket. She will soon receive an ocular prosthesis to replace her lost right eye.

Despite her injuries, she has chosen to share her experience publicly. She appeared on Pust Govoryat (Let Them Talk) on Channel One, speaking live about the abuse. Now, she focuses on helping others recognise the warning signs of toxic relationships. Oksana still lives with physical and psychological pain from the attack. Her decision to speak openly aims to raise awareness and prevent others from suffering as she did. She continues to advocate for those trapped in violent relationships, urging them to seek help before it’s too late.
