Teenager overdoses on acetaminophen to escape school test pressure

A 14-year-old girl from Smarhon, Belarus, was hospitalised after overdosing on acetaminophen at home. She admitted to taking more than 20 tablets on purpose to avoid an upcoming test. The incident began when the teenager ingested the pills while alone. Shortly after, she experienced severe dizziness and nausea, prompting an emergency response. She was rushed to hospital and placed in intensive care. Doctors later confirmed she had suffered acetaminophen poisoning. During questioning, the girl told law enforcement she had taken the tablets deliberately. Her condition improved, and she was discharged once her health stabilised. No official records track cases of self-inflicted acetaminophen poisoning among adolescents in Belarus over the past two years. The girl's recovery means no lasting harm was reported from the overdose.
