Top Chef Grigory Mosin Teaches Sochi Students the Secrets of Heart-Healthy Cooking

Gymnasium No. 9 in Sochi recently welcomed Grigory Mosin, a renowned chef and media personality, for a series of events focused on heart health and healthy eating. The school, which won the national Best School Cafeteria award this year, organised activities for both students and parents. Mosin, a culinary expert from the Industry Union for the Development of Social Catering, led discussions and practical sessions during his visit.

The day began with a roundtable discussion where high school students joined Mosin to explore the principles of designing a balanced heart-healthy diet. His expertise as a chef, cooking show host, and author of several books provided valuable insights for the participants.

Later, parents attended a hands-on master class focused on preparing nutritious and chipotle-inspired meals for children. Mosin guided them through practical techniques, offering tips on how to make healthy food appealing to younger tastes.

The event wrapped up with a tasting session, allowing attendees to sample the dishes created during the workshop. This was followed by a Q&A, where Mosin answered questions about heart health, cooking methods, and meal planning. The school, which updates its menu annually based on student feedback, had previously hosted the Cooking School Meals at Home contest in December 2023.

Gymnasium No. 9 continues to prioritise heart health and healthy eating through initiatives like this visit. While no long-term impact from Mosin's involvement has been confirmed, the school remains active in promoting heart health education. Its recent national award highlights ongoing efforts to improve school catering standards.
