Action Day in Tulln or: Can it be done without a screen?

Tulln's Fit4Future Event Tackles Kids' Screen Time with Play and Balance

A full-day event in Tulln will focus on children’s and young people’s health, particularly their media habits. Organised by Gesundes Tulln, the Fit4Future campaign aims to promote a balanced approach to screen time. Around 400 children are expected to attend the activities at the town hall on June 16. The event will run all day, offering workshops, interactive stations, and sports activities. Children can try yoga, self-defence, relaxation techniques, or unwind in a chill-out zone. A game called Wuzzler will also be available for participants.

From 5 p.m., the focus will shift to adults. Information booths will open, and smartphone coach Andrea Buhl-Aigner will deliver a keynote speech. The initiative also supports the Screen-Free Until Three program, which encourages toddlers under three to avoid screens entirely. City Health Councilor Paula Maringer recognises that smartphones play a big role in young lives. However, the campaign seeks to foster healthier habits. The Fit4Future project has received around €90,000 in funding for its activities over this year and next. More details about the June 16 event can be found at gesundes-tulln.at/fit4future.

The Fit4Future campaign will provide practical alternatives to screen-based activities for children and parents. With workshops, sports, and expert talks, the event aims to encourage healthier media use. The initiative will continue its work through 2025 with dedicated funding.
