Umar Kremlev's investment group expands into Russia's booming supplement market

Businessman Umar Kremlev’s investment group has expanded into the dietary supplement market by acquiring stakes in two Russian companies. The firms, LLC NutriShun Farm and LLC NutriShun Active, produce supplements under the Ipsum brand. Plans are now underway to build a new factory and push into international markets, including the UAE. The Ipsum brand was originally founded by Alexander Dzhidzhariya, a specialist in urology and sports medicine at RUDN University. Kremlev’s structures later secured a 50% share in both NutriShun Farm and NutriShun Active, which hold the trademark rights.

NutriShun Active was registered in October 2022 and saw its revenue triple by 2024, reaching 594.8 million rubles. Meanwhile, NutriShun Farm, established in June 2023, reported a ninefold revenue increase to 343.6 million rubles by the end of the same year. Between January and August 2024, pharmacies sold 32,300 packages of Ipsum supplements, generating 39.2 million rubles in sales.

In Russia, dietary supplement purchases for national sports teams are managed through the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA). While the market shows growth in monetary value, sales volumes in physical terms have remained flat.

Looking ahead, Kremlev’s group and Dzhidzhariya plan to construct a modern production facility in the Big Serpukhov special economic zone. The project aims to boost output and support expansion into foreign markets, with the UAE identified as a key target. The acquisition of stakes in NutriShun Farm and NutriShun Active strengthens Kremlev’s position in the supplement industry. With a new factory in development and international expansion on the horizon, the Ipsum brand is set to increase its market presence. The move follows rapid revenue growth for both companies over the past two years.
