The Markt Erkheim branch of VdK recently held its annual general meeting, marking another active year for the group. Among the highlights were a well-attended Christmas party, a day trip to Oberbayern's scenic 'Three Lakes Tour,' and a growing membership now totalling 462.

During the meeting, the branch honoured six members who passed away over the past year: Robert Denlöffel, Rosina Peters, Georg Fickler, Helmut Vorraber, Frieda Müller, and Wilhelm Jöchle. Their contributions were remembered by attendees.

Alina Krischer from the VdK regional office gave a detailed talk on long-term care credit. She explained care dependency levels, the support available, and how benefits are structured for those in need. The branch also reported on its community efforts. At the Christmas party, 44 people—including seniors over 80 and individuals facing hardship—received vouchers. Throughout the year, volunteers visited 29 members aged over 70 to celebrate their birthdays. Membership saw a rise of 24, bringing the total to 462. While no public data exists on how many members are under 70, the group remains active in supporting its older population.

The branch's activities, from educational talks to social outings, reflect its commitment to members' well-being. With a growing membership and ongoing community support, the group continues to play a key role in Markt Erkheim.
