Wolfgang Müller Honored for Decades of Lifesaving Volunteer Work in Bergisch Gladbach

Wolfgang Müller has received the Golden Honorary Pin from Bergisch Gladbach’s mayor, Marcel Kreutz. The award recognises his decades of service with the Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. His work spans emergency response, volunteer training, and community first aid programmes. Müller has been part of the Malteser organisation for many years. Since 1985, he has led emergency teams as a unit leader, coordinating responses for both local residents and wider humanitarian missions. His efforts extend beyond Germany, supporting disaster relief operations abroad.

In Bergisch Gladbach, he manages the Federal Volunteer Service (Bundesfreiwilligendienst), guiding new recruits through their training. He also runs first aid courses for schools, kindergartens, and specialised groups, including people with disabilities. These initiatives form part of the Malteser’s summer outreach programmes. Mayor Kreutz presented the Golden Honorary Pin in recognition of Müller’s long-standing social contributions. The city highlighted his role in strengthening community safety and fostering volunteer engagement over several decades.

The award marks Müller’s ongoing commitment to emergency services and public welfare. His leadership in training and disaster response continues to benefit both the Malteser organisation and the wider Bergisch Gladbach area. The city’s recognition underscores the impact of his work on local and international levels.
