World Premiere of Fatigued Honors Ukraine's War and Veterans in Tallinn

A special screening of the Ukrainian film Fatigued will be held in Tallinn on February 28. The event marks the third anniversary of the Ukrainian Film Club in Estonia and coincides with the fourth year since the Russia-Ukraine war began. This will be the first public showing of the film anywhere in the world, as no other screenings have been recorded.

The Ukrainian Film Club in Estonia was launched in February 2023 by the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia, with support from the Ukrainian Embassy. The club's latest event forms part of the Stop the Evil Together campaign, which seeks to bring Ukrainians abroad and their supporters closer.

Fatigued is directed by Yurii Dunai, an acclaimed Ukrainian cinematographer now serving in the country's armed forces. The film won the Grand Prix at the 54th Molodist International Film Festival. Its producer, Pylyp Illienko—a prominent filmmaker and former head of Ukraine's State Film Agency—will introduce the screening at Tallinn's Sõprus Cinema.

By the end of 2025, Ukraine will have over 1.5 million veterans, a figure that presents significant challenges for the nation's future stability. The film's themes resonate deeply with this reality, though its public release remains rare.

The screening in Tallinn stands as a rare opportunity to see Fatigued on the big screen. Organisers hope the event will strengthen ties between Ukrainians in Estonia and their local supporters. The film's appearance also highlights the ongoing cultural impact of the Ukraine war and its veterans' experiences.
