Yakutia's Peace! May! GTO! Festival Unites Fitness and National Pride in 2026

The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is set to host the Republican Festival Peace! May! GTO! from May 29 to 31, 2026. Organised by the Trade Union Federation alongside local sports and education ministries, the event invites residents to test their fitness under Russia’s GTO program. Participants can earn distinction badges while celebrating national unity and cultural initiatives.

The festival will take place across three Yakutsk venues: Tuimaada Stadium, Central Park of Culture and Recreation, and Cholbon Swimming Pool. Open to civil servants, students, and members of public organisations, the event aims to promote healthy lifestyles through physical challenges.

Those wishing to take part must submit an entry form to *[email protected]* by May 20, 2026. On the day, participants need to bring an ID, a completed application, and a medical certificate (Form No. 134n) confirming their fitness. Without this documentation, entry will be refused. The festival aligns with the federal project *Sport—A Way of Life* and marks both the Year of National Unity in Russia and the Year of Culture in Sakha (Yakutia).
