A recent 'Yuva-Connect' programme at Sri Aurobindo Medical College brought together students to discuss India's development goals under the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission. The event highlighted efforts to improve healthcare, education, and research while encouraging youth involvement in national progress. Dean (Student Welfare) Dr Jayashree Tapadiya urged participants to take leadership roles in community and national initiatives. The programme focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, medical education, and research nationwide. Free health screenings and treatments for non-communicable diseases are now available under the Nirogi Kaya campaign at medical colleges and health centres. Telemedicine services are also expanding to connect institutions digitally, improving remote learning and patient care, particularly in rural areas.
Biomedical research received special attention, with new programmes aimed at advancing indigenous vaccine development. Dr Tapadiya stressed the need for students to contribute actively to these efforts. She linked their participation to the broader vision of building a developed India by 2047. Students at the event engaged in discussions on how youth-led initiatives could support healthcare access and innovation. The National Medical College Network's push for digital integration was also highlighted as a key step in modernising medical services across the country.
The initiatives launched under Viksit Bharat 2047 include free health check-ups, expanded telemedicine, and research support for vaccines. These measures aim to make quality healthcare more accessible, especially in underserved regions. The programme's success will depend on continued student engagement and institutional collaboration.
