Electric Trikes Bring Mobility and Joy to Regens Wagner Holzhausen Residents

Regens Wagner Holzhausen has added three new electric tricycles to its facilities. The fleet, funded by Aktion Mensch, includes a single-seater, a tandem, and a rickshaw to meet different mobility needs. Residents are already enjoying the benefits of these e-trikes for leisure, social activities, and health.

Over the past three years, Aktion Mensch has supported 12 similar projects across Bavaria. These include barrier-free upgrades in Munich, accessible shuttles in Nuremberg, and wheelchair-friendly cycle paths in Augsburg.

The new e-trikes are stored in an easily accessible spot to encourage regular use. Residents have embraced them for outdoor exercise, social inclusion, and cognitive stimulation. Helmets are currently on order and will arrive soon to ensure safe riding.

Niklas Kirsch, a staff member, highlighted the tandem as a great way for inclusive group outings. Meanwhile, Robert Scholz, head of the therapeutic education home, praised the rickshaw for its practicality during trips with children. The single-seater also allows individuals to ride independently, thanks to its electric motor support. Aktion Mensch's funding has made a broader impact in Bavaria. In 2024, five barrier-free projects were completed in Munich. The following year, Nuremberg introduced four accessible shuttle services. Augsburg also saw improvements in 2023, with three new wheelchair-friendly cycle routes.

The e-trikes at Regens Wagner Holzhausen are now part of daily life, offering mobility, fun, and health benefits. With helmets arriving soon, safety will be further ensured. Across Bavaria, Aktion Mensch's support continues to expand accessibility, helping more people stay active and connected.
